Help me find the game I am looking for!!?
OK, so there is this game I played on my PC around 2001, although I think it is older than that. – the game is classic, well-known I guess, but I cannot remember for the life of God, what it is called.
The thing is that you have a board and a ball. Using the ball, you sort of hit some bricks, and you have to catch the ball with the board, and if you lose the ball, then the game is over. Or you actually have three lives, I think. The goal is to hit all the bricks, because when you do so, the disappear, and when all bricks are removed, you go to the next level.
I think the title was X-something, or perhaps ball-something.
The game you’re talking about is very old, and there are tons of versions of it.
The original game was by Atari, first released under the name “Breakout” in the 1970’s. Later there were official versions called “Arkanoid,” popular on both the computer and on the Nintendo and Super Nintendo.
There have been tons of clones and ripoffs of Breakout. Since you mention ‘X’ and ‘Ball,’ I’m guessing you mean DX-Ball and DX-Ball 2, both shareware versions for Windows (You might also mean Ball-Cracker, or Bal Cube?). You shouldn’t have too much trouble finding them, though I’m not sure how running them will go. If you can’t find them you can always search for Breakout or Arkanoid and find a similar clone or an original.
As for me, I was introduced by a shareware Arkanoid way back when!
